Childhood friends since their days of little league baseball, Dave Quirarte, Jr. and Ron Abarca’s friendship grew over the years into a successful partnership with the creation of Margarita’s in Kansas City.

The beginnings were simple enough. As night shift workers at a local automobile plant, Dave and Ron began making and selling burritos to their fellow workers. After finishing their shift, they would begin in earnest to make burritos for the coming day shift workers. Their batch of 50 burritos would sell out each day and by the end of the first month they were selling 300 per day. Now they were rolling. The first Margarita’s restaurant opened in October 1985. With an established clientele longing for their classic style burritos and a couple of well timed articles, business started booming.
